Neb. Rev. Stat. § 43-2101 — minors are those under nineteen, though at eighteen a person may sign a lease or contract
Nineteen. All persons under nineteen are minors, though a person who marries younger stops being one.
- Enter a binding contract or lease, and be legally responsible for it.
- Sign a promissory note, mortgage or security agreement.
- Buy or sell real estate.
- Consent to mental health services.
Those are among what a person eighteen or older may do before nineteen, apart from wards of the state. Other ages are set elsewhere, such as twenty-one for alcohol.
