Unemployment After A Job Ends
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 48-628.10 — fourteen weeks out for misconduct, and quitting without good cause
Fired for misconduct. A worker discharged for misconduct connected with the work is disqualified for that week and the fourteen weeks immediately after it.
Misconduct that was gross, flagrant and willful, or unlawful, disqualifies the worker from benefits on the wages earned before the discharge.
Quitting. A worker who left voluntarily without good cause is disqualified until earning at least four times the weekly benefit amount in insured work and leaving that job under nondisqualifying conditions.
Whether a quit had good cause, or a firing was misconduct, is decided by the commissioner. A particular claim is a question for a licensed Nebraska attorney.
