Working Under Sixteen
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 48-302 — an employment certificate on file for any child under sixteen
A certificate on file. No child under sixteen years of age may be employed unless the employer procures and keeps on file an employment certificate, open to attendance officers and the Department of Labor.
An employer whose worker appears to be under sixteen without a certificate on file furnishes proof of age within ten days or stops employing the child.
The certificate is kept for at least twelve months after the job ends. A particular job is a question for a licensed Nebraska attorney.
