Tobacco and Vapes Under Twenty One
NRS 202.2493 — the counter sign says it: no sales to anyone under 21
Every store selling tobacco, vapor products or other nicotine products must display at the point of sale a notice that their sale to persons under 21 years of age is prohibited by law, and that the retailer may ask for proof of age.
Who handles this in Nevada: State Bar of Nevada Lawyer Referral Service; and legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Nevada directory.
Cigarettes, smokeless tobacco and alternative nicotine products may be sold only in the unopened package that came from the manufacturer, carrying the federal health warning.
The penalties for selling to someone under 21, and the rules for a minor who buys or has tobacco, are in other sections not covered here. A particular charge is a question for a licensed Nevada attorney.
