N.J.S.A. 56:12-32 — a full refund when a defect reported in the first 24,000 miles or two years cannot be fixed
In New Jersey, when a consumer reports a defect in a new vehicle to the manufacturer or dealer during the first 24,000 miles or two years after delivery, whichever comes first, the manufacturer makes all repairs needed to correct it within a reasonable time.
A full refund. If the manufacturer cannot fix the defect within a reasonable time, it accepts the vehicle back and refunds the full purchase price, including any trade-in credit, options added within 30 days of delivery, sales tax, license and registration fees, finance charges, towing, and rental costs.
