Crosswalks and Pedestrians
N.D.C.C. § 39-10-28 — without a working signal, drivers yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk
- Where signals are not in place or not working, a driver yields to a pedestrian in a crosswalk on the driver's half of the road, or approaching so closely from the other half as to be in danger.
- A pedestrian may not suddenly step off a curb into the path of a vehicle too close to stop.
- A driver may not pass a vehicle stopped at a crosswalk to let a pedestrian cross.
Failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk carries a $50 fee.
