N.D.C.C. § 12.1-23-05 — graded by value, from a class A misdemeanor to a class A felony over $50,000
Theft is knowingly taking or controlling another's property, getting it by deception or threat, or receiving stolen property, with intent to deprive the owner. Keeping property known to be lost or delivered by mistake, without reasonable steps to return it, is theft too.
