What Creditors Cannot Take
N.D.C.C. § 28-22-02 — family pictures, clothing, a year's provisions and the home are exempt from collection
- Absolutely exempt: family pictures, a burial lot, a family Bible and the family's books, clothing, apparel up to $5,000, a year's provisions and fuel, and the homestead.
- A resident may also claim, instead of the homestead, up to $25,000.
- One vehicle up to $10,000 over liens, or up to $50,000 if modified for a permanent physical disability.
- Tools and books of the trade up to $10,000, and an unmatured life insurance policy.
