SDCL § 60-11-9 — wages at least once each calendar month or on agreed paydays, and double damages for a malicious refusal

Every employer pays all wages due at least once each calendar month, or on regular paydays set in advance, by check, cash or direct deposit unless the two agree to another form.

Double. If a private employer's refusal to pay wages due is oppressive, fraudulent or malicious, the damages are double the wages owed.
