Driving While Suspended
Utah Code 53-3-227 — a class C misdemeanor, and class B when the suspension came from a DUI or a refusal
Driving on Utah highways while the driving privilege is denied, suspended, disqualified or revoked, by Utah or by the state that granted it, is a class C misdemeanor.
Who handles this in Utah: legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Utah directory.
- It is a class B misdemeanor when the suspension or revocation was for refusing a chemical test, for driving under the influence, or for another offense the section lists, including one pleaded down from those charges.
- A suspension from another state for a corresponding violation counts the same way.
- A fine under the class B rule is at least the maximum fine for a class C misdemeanor.
