Deceptive Business Practices
RCW 19.86.090 — actual damages, attorney's fees, and up to three times damages
In Washington, unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce are unlawful.
Actual damages, costs and fees, and up to treble. A person injured in their business or property by a violation can sue to stop it and to recover actual damages, with the costs of suit and a reasonable attorney's fee. The court may increase damages up to three times actual damages, but the increase for an unfair or deceptive practice may not exceed twenty-five thousand dollars.
