A Dog Running Loose
W. Va. Code § 19-20-13 — the owner who lets a dog run at large pays for the damage it does
Running at large. An owner or keeper who lets a dog run at large is liable for any damage the dog does to another person or their property while it is running at large.
A bite from a dog that was not running loose is decided under other law. A particular claim is a question for a licensed West Virginia attorney.
