Pulling Over for a Siren
W.S. 31-5-224 — to the right edge and stopped, and over a lane or 20 below the limit for one parked
When an authorized emergency vehicle approaches using its signals, every other driver yields, moves as close as possible to the right hand edge or curb clear of any intersection, and stops until it has passed, unless a police officer directs otherwise.
Who handles this in Wyoming: Wyoming State Bar, attorney referrals; and legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Wyoming directory.
- Approaching a parked emergency vehicle with its lights on, on a highway with two or more lanes going that way, the driver merges into the lane farthest from it if safe.
- On a two lane road with a posted limit of 45 or more, the driver slows to 20 miles per hour below the posted limit.
- The same applies to a municipal, utility or highway maintenance vehicle using its lights.
