When the Lease Runs Out
W.S. 34-2-128 — staying on after the term is only a tenancy by sufferance
When a lease, spoken or written, ends, it does not renew by implication for any period. A tenant staying on, and a landlord taking rent for that time, make only a tenancy by sufferance.
Who handles this in Wyoming: legal aid programs, lawyer referral and the state offices, listed in the Wyoming directory.
A tenant holding over after the term can face an eviction case.
