Unemployment Benefits
A.R.S. 23-771 — able, available, and a job contact on four different days each week
An unemployed person in Arizona is eligible for a week's benefits only if the department finds that the person:
- Registered for work and keeps reporting as the department's regulations require.
- Made a claim for benefits.
- Is able to work.
- Is available for work, made a systematic and sustained effort to find it during at least four days of the week, and made at least one job contact per day on four different days.
- Has served a waiting period of one week.

Leaving over transportation is disqualifying unless the travel exceeds the occupation's normal practice or there are compelling personal circumstances, which include a commute of over thirty miles or more than one and one-half hours, or following a spouse or parent in the armed services on transfer orders.
