Window Tint
21 Del. C. § 4313 — 50% light through the front side windows, anything behind the driver, and a doctor's statement as a defense
- The side windows to the driver's immediate right and left, and the side wings in front of them, may be tinted if the tint lets through 50% or more of visible light.
- The side windows behind the driver and the rear window may have tint of any darkness, 0% or greater.
- The windshield may have clear tint along the top edge, above the line the federal standard marks.
Medically necessary. A person is not in violation who has a statement signed by a licensed physician, osteopath or optometrist that tinted windows are medically necessary for the owner or usual driver.
