Under 21 And Alcohol
Idaho Code § 23-604 and Idaho Code § 18-1502 — an infraction of $300 the first time, then a misdemeanor
The first time, an infraction. A person under twenty-one who buys, tries to buy, consumes or possesses any alcohol beverage commits an infraction the first time, punished by a fine of $300, and a misdemeanor on a later conviction.
A misdemeanor under the age violation section carries a fine of up to $2,000 or up to thirty days, and a third or later one up to $3,000 or sixty days. On a misdemeanor, the court suspends driving privileges for up to one year.
A person nineteen or older may sell, serve and dispense alcohol at work, and doing so is not possession. A conviction under the age section may not be used for motor vehicle insurance purposes.
