Breaking a Protective Order
Iowa Code § 664A.7 — summary contempt, with a hearing five to 15 days after the rule to show cause
- Violating a no contact order or a protective order is punishable by summary contempt.
- The contempt hearing is held not less than five and not more than 15 days after the rule to show cause.
- For listed violations, the person is confined in the county jail for at least seven days, served on consecutive days.
