Riding a Motorcycle
Iowa Code § 321.275 — a passenger only on a motorcycle designed for one, with footrests
- The motor vehicle laws apply to motorcycles and motorized bicycles as far as practical.
- No passenger rides a motorized bicycle.
- A motorcycle carries a passenger only if designed for more than one, on a seat built for two or a seat attached behind the operator, with footrests for the passenger.
- The operator rides on the permanent seat, astride and facing forward.
