Iowa Code § 321.445 — the driver and front seat occupants belted whenever the vehicle moves forward
- The driver and front seat occupants each wear a properly adjusted and fastened safety belt whenever the vehicle is in forward motion on a street or highway.
- A child under 18 is secured as the child restraint section requires.
- Excepted are delivery and similar work with frequent stops at not over 25 miles per hour, rural letter carriers on route, bus passengers, and a person with a written health care provider certification.
