Tobacco and Vapes Under Twenty One

Iowa Code § 453A.2 — no selling to, buying or using by, anyone under legal age

  • No one sells, gives or otherwise supplies tobacco, tobacco products, alternative nicotine products, vapor products or cigarettes to a person under twenty-one years of age.
  • A person under twenty-one years of age does not smoke, use, possess, purchase or attempt to purchase any of them.
  • Holding them as part of a job, for an employer with a valid permit or that lawfully sells them, is not a violation.
