Iowa Code § 91B.1 — an employee may see and copy the file, at a time agreed with the employer

  • An employee may see and get a copy of the personnel file the employer keeps, including evaluations and disciplinary records.
  • The time is agreed between employer and employee, and an employer representative may be present.
  • References written for the employee are not included.
  • The employer may charge a reasonable per page fee for copies.
