A Sale at the Door
KRS 367.420 — until midnight of the third business day to cancel a home solicitation sale
A home solicitation sale is one where the seller personally solicits it at the buyer's home and the buyer agrees there. It does not include a sale after earlier negotiations, one by a phone call the buyer made, or one at a store.
- The buyer may cancel until midnight of the third business day after signing.
- Cancellation is written notice to the seller at the address in the agreement, in any words showing the buyer does not mean to be bound.
- Notice by mail is given when it is mailed, properly addressed and stamped.
Within ten days after cancellation, the seller returns every payment and any note. Until the seller does, the buyer may keep goods delivered and has a lien on them.
