Careless and Reckless Driving
KRS 189.290 — driving in a careful manner, with regard for the safety of others
- A driver on a highway drives in a careful manner, with regard for the safety and convenience of pedestrians and other vehicles.
- No one drives in a reckless or negligent manner so as to endanger persons or property on or near a highway or a highway work zone.
- Reckless driving, or willfully damaging vehicles or equipment in a work zone, can also bring revocation of the license.
Careless driving carries a fine of $20 to $100. Reckless driving, or work zone damage, that causes physical injury carries a fine of $500.
