MCL 567.245 — a verified claim, a decision within 90 days, and interest on interest-bearing property
In Michigan, a person claiming an interest in property paid or delivered to the administrator under the unclaimed property act may file a claim on the administrator's form, verified by the claimant.
90 days, and notice of a denial. The administrator considers each claim within 90 days after it is filed and gives written notice if it is denied in whole or in part.
What is paid. If allowed, the claimant receives the property, the amount actually received, or the net proceeds if it was sold. For interest-bearing property surrendered on or after March 28, 1996, interest is added at 6% a year or the lower rate the property earned, for up to 10 years after delivery.
