Unemployment After Quitting Or Being Fired

Mo. Rev. Stat. § 288.050 — quitting without good cause attributable to the work

A Missouri claimant who left work voluntarily without good cause attributable to the work or the employer is disqualified until earning insured wages equal to ten times the weekly benefit amount.

  • Quitting to take a better paying job that the claimant took and earned wages in.
  • Quitting temporary work to return to the regular employer.
  • Quitting unsuitable work within twenty eight calendar days of the first day worked.

Those are among the exceptions. Being discharged for misconduct connected with the work also disqualifies the claimant until the earnings the section sets are made.
