A notarized acknowledgment of paternity signed by the alleged father creates a rebuttable presumption that he is the father.

Sixty days to rescind. Any signer may rescind within the earlier of sixty days or the date of a court or administrative proceeding about the child in which they are a party. After that, the acknowledgment is a legal finding of paternity.

After the rescission period, the finding may be set aside only for fraud, duress or material mistake of fact, or on genetic testing as the section provides. A particular case is a question for a licensed Nebraska attorney.
