Points On Your License
NRS 483.473 — from one to eight demerit points, counted over 12 months
The Department of Motor Vehicles keeps a uniform system of demerit points for traffic violations in Nevada, based on the points a driver accumulates during a period of 12 months.
One to eight, by how serious. Each violation carries points on a scale from one demerit point for a minor violation to eight for an extremely serious one. Two or more violations on a single occasion are assessed as one, at the higher value.
A violation counts once it is a conviction or a court finding of a civil infraction. A ticket from a school bus camera does not.
