The Car Seat Rules
NRS 484B.157 — under 6 and under 57 inches in a car seat, under 2 facing the rear in the back
A child who is less than 6 years of age and less than 57 inches tall has to be secured in a child restraint system that is federally approved, appropriate for the child's size and weight, and installed as the manufacturer instructs or in another way the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approves.
Under 2: facing the rear, in the back. A child less than 2 years of age rides in a rear-facing system in the back seat. The front passenger seat is allowed only with that seat's air bag off, and only where a physician has signed a statement that the child's health care needs require it, every back seat is taken by other children under 2, or the vehicle has no back seat.
