The Light That Is Changing
NRS 484B.307 — yellow warns, red means stop at the line, and a motorcycle may go after two cycles
A steady yellow warns that the green movement is ending or a red is coming next, and traffic must not enter the intersection while the red is showing. A steady red means stopping before the crosswalk or marked line, or before the intersection if there is none, and staying stopped until the green.
Turning on red. After stopping, a driver at the far right may turn right on red, and a driver at the far left of a one-way road may turn left onto another one-way road going left, yielding to pedestrians and traffic moving on the signal.
A person on a motorcycle, moped, trimobile, bicycle, electric bicycle or electric scooter who has stopped and waited two complete cycles while the signal fails to change, because it malfunctions or does not detect them, may go through or turn if no other device forbids it, yielding to traffic moving on the signal.
Cutting through private or public property to get around a red light is not allowed. A rule that needs a sign cannot be enforced where the sign is not in place and legible to an ordinarily observant person.
