Door to Door Sales
Utah Code 70C-5-102 — until midnight of the third business day to cancel
A buyer may cancel a home solicitation sale until midnight of the third business day after signing an agreement or offer to purchase, by written notice to the seller at the address in the agreement. Any written expression of not wanting to be bound is enough, and notice by mail is given when it is deposited in a mailbox.
Who handles this in Utah: Utah Division of Consumer Protection; and legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Utah directory.
- The agreement carries a statement under the caption "BUYER'S RIGHT TO CANCEL".
- Until the seller has given it, the buyer may cancel by notifying the seller in any manner.
Within 10 days after a cancellation, the seller returns the payments made and any note or other evidence of debt.
