13 V.S.A. § 4020 — no sale of a firearm to anyone under 21, with the listed exceptions
No one may sell a firearm to a person under 21, a violation carrying up to one year and $1,000. Law enforcement, National Guard and armed forces members and veterans, and buyers with an approved hunter safety course certificate are excepted.
- A child under 16 may not have a pistol or revolver without a parent's or guardian's consent.
- Someone other than a parent or guardian who sells or furnishes a firearm or ammunition to a minor under 16 faces a fine of $10 to $50, except an instructor for teaching.
