23 V.S.A. § 1033 — at least four feet of clearance to pass a vulnerable user
A driver approaching or passing a vulnerable user, such as someone on foot or a bicycle, uses due care, reducing speed and increasing clearance to at least four feet, and crosses the center line only where passing is allowed. A violation carries a civil penalty of not less than $200.
