Idaho Code § 49-326 — one to four points a violation, twelve points in twelve months, and a hearing on request
A violation point is assessed for each conviction or infraction for a moving traffic violation: one point for a less serious violation, up to four for a more serious one. Only one violation from a single stop or citation is counted.
Twelve points in twelve months. The department may suspend a license without a preliminary hearing when the driving record shows twelve or more points in any twelve consecutive months.

Under seventeen. A driver cited under seventeen gets a written warning for a first moving violation conviction, a thirty day suspension for a second and sixty days for a third.
The department notifies the driver in writing, and on request holds a hearing within twenty days, which may be by telephone. A particular record is a question for the Idaho Transportation Department or a licensed Idaho attorney.
