A Sale at Your Door
R.I. Gen. Laws § 6-28-3 — three days to cancel by registered or certified mail, not counting Sundays and holidays
Three days. A buyer may cancel a door to door sale or lease by mailing written notice to the seller's cancellation address no later than midnight three days after signing, not counting Sunday or a holiday without mail delivery.
The notice goes by registered or certified mail, and it works if it shows the buyer does not intend to be bound.
No door to door agreement is effective unless the buyer signed and dated it and it carries the required notice to the buyer, in bold type, right above the signature line.
