What Creditors Cannot Take
12 V.S.A. § 2740 — a vehicle up to $2,500, tools of the trade up to $5,000, a wedding ring, and household goods
- A motor vehicle interest up to $2,500, and professional books or tools of the trade up to $5,000.
- A wedding ring, and other personal jewelry up to $500.
- Household furnishings, appliances, clothing, books, animals and the like up to $2,500, and growing crops up to $5,000.
- A cooking stove, heating appliances, a refrigerator, a freezer and a water heater, and a supply of firewood or fuel.
